Need to Know

All rates include full English breakfast, early morning tea/coffee, a daily newspaper, VAT and service. Rates also include use of the spa facilities (treatments are charged as taken).

We do not usually take one night bookings at weekends.

Dinner allowance

All dinner-inclusive rates are for food only and do not include drinks.

We ask that reservations are confirmed either in writing or with a credit card and, in some circumstances, we ask for an initial deposit of £100 per room. Full prepayment is also required at certain peak times.

Clients are advised that bookings cancelled less than 10 days prior to arrival will be charged at full room rate if the room remains unsold. We therefore strongly recommend that guests take out insurance to cover against unforeseen circumstances.

American Express (charges may apply) and all major credit cards are accepted, as well as cash and cheques.

Dogs are accepted by prior arrangement only (so that we may offer you a suitable courtyard room) and even if we are aware of them joining you, they are not permitted at any time in the house, lounges or any of the public areas.

Families are welcome at Calcot

Our family rooms and suites are located in a pretty converted barn that forms a small courtyard immediately in front of the main house. Some have bunk beds and some have two single beds.
There is plenty of space for additional folding beds and cots (provided) if required.
Most rooms can comfortably accommodate two children.
The children’s supplement is £30 per child (0-16 years) per night and includes breakfast, High Tea from the children’s menu, use of The Playzone and The Crèche (pre-booking recommended), and Calcot Spa during the stated times.

High Tea

Children’s High Tea is served in The Gumstool Inn from 5.30pm until 6pm.
The Conservatory Restaurant is exclusively for our adult guests, but you are welcome to eat as a family in the Gumstool Inn between 5.30pm and 9.30pm (9pm on Sundays) or at lunchtime. Advance bookings are recommended for The Gumstool, as it does get fully booked - particulary at weekends.

The Playzone

The Playzone caters for children from newborn to 16 years old and is fully registered with Ofsted.
The crèche downstairs is staffed by qualified nannies and is packed with age-appropriate toys and games. The mezzanine level (The Mez) is an unsupervised area for children of 8 years and older. It incorporates a cinema and a studio equipped with playstations, X-boxes and computers.

The Playzone and Mez offer childcare from 9am -12.30pm and 1.30 - 5.30pm every day. You may leave your children with the qualified nannies at any time during these hours (we recommend that children are left for no more than two hours at any one time). Since we have to operate to strict staff:children ratios, we advise all parents to pre-book The Playzone to avoid disappointment. If you would like the nannies to look after your children at a particular time - for example while you are enjoying spa treatments - it is essential that you pre-book prior to arrival.

Calcot Spa

The Spa has been designed to be a luxurious and relaxing retreat for adults and therefore access to children is limited to the following times:
Every day: 3.45 - 5.15pm
Saturday & Sunday: 8.45 - 10.15am
Please note: We hope you understand that children are not permitted in the spa outside these times.
